Welp, my epidural didn't work. I was given the option of having a spinal block or being put to sleep. I started becoming nervous at the thought of either and told them I was having 2nd thoughts. I was already laying on the table and everything was prepped. The head anesthesiologist knew I was getting panicky so he said, 'we are going to put you to sleep'. He took my hand, said everything was going to be okay and told me to take some breaths. The last thing I remember thinking was 'this isn't going to work' and apparently I fell asleep. The next thing I remember was someone saying 'Wake up Mrs. Johnson, we're finished'. I woke up coughing my head off and thinking 'Man! My stomach is SORE!'
I am still very sleepy/groggy. They gave me some pains meds so that has an additonal 'sleepy' effect. The first thing I asked for after waking up was my husband. I knew I just wanted to see & talk to Lance. He came in and and held my hand. It's amazing how much someone can have such a calming effect on you.
Anyway, I survived. PTL!
I ate one little bite of mac & cheese and immediately felt like it was going to come back up so I'm gonna skip trying to eat for right now and just drink some diet coke and try to rest.
Keep praying for me. I'm not feeling very good at the moment.
Thanks every1.

3 folks had something to say.:
I know what you mean about calming effect of some people. Danny HAS to hold my hand during birth or I can't calm myself. He totally keeps me calm. Weird.
Man, i am sorry you don't feel good. I remember when I got my tonsils out how quickly I went to sleep. SHEW, weird huh. Cept when I woke up I was punching or hitting at the nurse :)
LOL!! Being put to sleep does weird things to everybody. I always wake up from nightmares. LOL!!
