gut-wrenching

Kailee had such a rough time at her appointment this morning. She did so good until she had to lay down on the table. I didn't realize she had to drink the barium while laying on the table for her x-ray. I started out in there with her but she was throwin such a fit, it was starting to become harder and harder to hold her down. Lance said he heard her in the hallway and wanted to bust the door down. Eventually, we had to stop and let her calm down. They had to call an additional person in there plus I let Lance go in and help just to hold her down for the last picture. She was screaming & crying. She had barium all over her face, in her ears, in her nose. It was so pitiful. The doctor kept asking if we wanted to just go ahead and quit and just use the pictures we already had but the test wasn't complete. I went ahead and allowed them to continue because if something is seriously wrong, we'd want to know PLUS I wouldn't want to have to go back again.

After all the chaos, he told me that her esophagus, stomach & duodenom looked fine but he did notice that when her stomach was completely full, the relux would start back up her throat. He said that he would look at the xrays to see if there was anything on them that he didn't see on the screen and let us know something by at least Monday. He also said Kailee's doctor may want to go ahead and order for her to have the light done. She'd be put to sleep for that. Lance said he doesn't want to put her through that right now but it's something that is necessary no matter how hard it is to see your child go through things like that.

Contiune to pray for Kailee & her little tummy. I know the Lord can heal her before she has to go through anymore traumatic testing.

3 folks had something to say.:

That must have been sooooo hard. I had to practically lay on my littlest brother in the ER one time so they could get an IV in... I couldn't imagine going through a long procedure like that.

Putting her to sleep sounds like it would be LESS traumatic for her, I think.

Hope they can find out something to help soon.

I am going to keep praying...It hurts the parents more than the children...God put that in us and he is mindful of our love for our children and we can trust him to take care of our children...Thank you Jesus...Thank you Lord that Kailee has parents who see about her health...

Poor girl! Glad that it is over with. Poor thing. Praying it all turns out well.
